I understand being a cop is a stressful job - but that stress must not be taken out on people, especially if you are representing the law.
The fire unit was performing a standard
DOT-approved safety maneuver for fire and
EMS units on crash scenes. I wonder if the police are trained in those techniques. The Wisconsin State Patrol tried for years to tell our firefighters and
EMT's how to do their jobs. Fortunately, the
EMS Association's attorney became involved and brought up the liability issues of the police officers telling fire and
EMS vehicles where to park. That was about ten years ago. Didn't have any problems after that.
Wisconsin state law states that the fire officer on scene has authority.
