What's the one thing you'd like to build or renovate by yourself, but know it'll never happen?

For years, I've always wanted to buy an old railroad interlocking tower, convert it into a house and live in it. Living room and bedroom on the upper level. Kitchen, bath, and dining area downstairs. New windows and roof. I know it'll never happen. Those old towers are either already snatched up or they've been torn down. Not to mention that most railroads own the property they're on. But a few were available on disguarded rights of way.

I would love go back to school at a college/university that has major courses on the American Civil War and study it in depth, and visit and study the various battlefields where the war was fought.

If I win the Lotto tonight, I can retire and do that. :)) The missus will have to move to Virginia with me.

Get my pilot's license, instead of always just letting my brother hand me the controls.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

I'm still in the process of reworking and fixing up all the Legos that I have accumulated over the years. The problem is that I have to convince Jr. to stop playing with them till all are fixed.

I may get there soon.

I've always wanted to build a kit plane such as an RV or Glasair.

They have classes at Williams Gateway but I have no time or money.

So many.... But like Fu, I'd love to build my own plane some day, something glass and slick. Glider would do.

I'd love, one day, to build my own home, to my own design. I've always been intrigued by geodesic domes, and would love to live in one!
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

I seized a Glasair in a Drug Raid once . . . .neat plane . . .

. . . .

I've had a hankering to renovate the kitchen in my Condo . . . . stainless steel appliances, white oak or maple cabinets, marble countertops.

I could do the work myself, I'm just never home long enough . . . .

From own experience, if you have a large collection of Legos, you NEVER get all of them fixed ;) .

As for what I've always wanted to do, since I'm already on the topic of Legos, it would be building a large city in the way often seen on Brickshelf.com, not necessarily as realistically detailed, but a nice large town underground rail lines, a large airport (d'uh!), and completely free of any of licensed Lego stuff (like Star Wars or Harry Potter Lego).

Second after that would be a roadtrip across the entire US in a 1982 Chevy Corvette :D . I have been to quite a few states so far, but ultimately, I want to go on a roadtrip and travel through all of the lower 48 in one go, with 2 side-trips to Hawaii and Alaska.

Actually, I finally started doing it a couple of weeks ago. I started getting together the parts and have started restoring the 1981 Chevrolet Citation that I drove in high school. I've driven it around the neighborhood a could of times lately to evaluate what it needs after many years of neglect and it's not in horrible shape, but it does need some attention. Here's what it looked like "way back when":
