A student at a fundamentalist Baptist school that forbids dancing, rock music, hand-holding and kissing will be suspended if he takes his girlfriend to her public high school prom, his principal said.

Well, the kid already told the school he was going to the prom regardless, but if he just would've kept his mouth shut...how would they have known? Were they going to stalk him? Gee...I think that's a tad bit illegal. How in the hell can they get away with this? Because they're a private school? I don't buy that. How can they tell what you can or can't do outside of and off of school grounds?

This is so wrong on so many levels. I couldn't imagine going to a school like that.

Typical Christian Taliban extremism. Believe it or not, this is very common among Evangelical circles.

I agree with what the students stepfather said about school rules should not apply outside school.

It's the Taliban at it again (Christian style). I'm glad I never had to go to a school like that, I would of been expelled the second I stepped on campus.

Anyone else notice most of these radical religious schools are mostly Baptist?

Same here. It's a stupid rule, IMHO, but no one is forcing the kid to attend this particular private school.
