17 Years Ago The Boeing 777-300ER Took Its First Flight
The Boeing 777-300ER has been a long-haul staple in many airline fleets around the world. This is probably most evident with airlines such as Emirates, but also other large carriers like Cathay Pacific and Air France. Today, 17 years ago, this iconic aircraft took its first flight. This flight would kick-off a 1,600-hour flight-test program towards government certification.

Major European airline stocks drop on coronavirus concerns
Share prices in the three main European alliance carriers have fallen sharply in early trading, apparently in response to increasing concerns over the international spread of the coronavirus.
While major European stock indices – including those in Germany, France, the Benelux states and the UK – slipped by around 3-4% as markets opened on 24 February, the impact on the airline stocks has been more substantial.

Air China and China Eastern to resume some suspended flights
Air China and China Eastern Airlines intend to resume within a two-month timeframe some international services that were suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Shanghai-based China Eastern says it will restart “more than 800” domestic and international flights over the next two months, starting from 25 February.

Moldovan start-up HiSky led by former chief of flag-carrier
Former Air Moldova chief Iulian Scorpan is heading up a private start-up budget carrier, branded HiSky, for the Central European republic.
While all Moldovan carriers, with the exception of Air Moldova, FlyOne and Aerotranscargo, are blacklisted, the start-up will be formed through a partnership with a Romanian operating carrier, Cobrex Trans, based in Brasov.
