AirlinesBrazil’s Azul takes first Embraer E195-E2 Azul Brazilian Airlines plans to double in size over the next five years as the carrier continues to grow its Embraer E2, Airbus A320neo and A330 fleets. The airline took delivery of its first Embraer 195-E2 Sept. 12 and will be the type’s first operator. Azul plans to introduce the aircraft into revenue service by the end of October, initially on the route from its Campinas hub to Brasilia. The airline will take five more 195-E2s before the end of 2019.

The aircraft will renew Tunisair Express’s regional fleet, which consists of two earlier-model ATR 72-500s that replaced first-generation -200 series aircraft. It also has a single Bombardier CRJ900 in its inventory.
LinkSingapore Airlines A330 to take over SilkAir’s 737 Busan route Singapore Airlines (SIA) will be taking over the 4X-weekly Singapore-Busan route from its regional subsidiary SilkAir. Subject to regulatory approval, the transfer will begin Oct. 28.
SIA will deploy the Airbus A330-300, upguaged from the current Boeing 737-800, with a 76% capacity increase.

The aircraft, the first of two leased by the carrier, emerged from the Airbus paint shop in Toulouse, complete in Fiji’s livery. It will next get its engines installed, before embarking on ground and flight tests.
