Citreone Berlingo / Renault Kangoo should be fine, and usually are cheaper to rent in Spain than "Compact" cars.

Several rental car companies have offices at Sants estacion.

I just booked a rental, compact car: Fiat 500L, Opel Astra or similar. Should be ok for that 2 days.

Thosten and me are in, I think airtrainer will join us too, so still one free seat.

Jeff and I could book a hotel close to you guys and that would make four.

What's the point of an open door policy if inside the open door sits a closed mind?

Did you guys check on www.bedycasa.com before you booked a Hotel ?

There you might find a room in an ultra-modern appartment with a heated salt-water swimmingpool and a nice multilingual Landlady for 35-40 EUR per night. ;) :))

Marcel and I still need seats in a car. The problem is that both of us have no credit card to rent a car on our own.
If I am right we have two cars that both are complete taken!?

Is there a possibility to upgrade one's booking for a bigger car?

We are in the same hotel as Jochen and Thorsten (Hotel ibis Styles B'na Centre (C/ Provenca 340 X Av. Diagonal))

airtrainer and I were looking at the Ibis Styles but prices now appear to be pretty high. In fact the Expo Hotel Barcelona (next to the Torre Catalunya) has much lower rates. Would those currently in the Torre Catalunya be prepared to go for a 6-7 seater to include Jeff and I, allowing Marcelha & 90flyhigh to jump in with Yokes & TP80???

My rental car booking can be canceled but what I can see is that a 7 seat van is very expansive. Best price I could get is for an Opel Zafira 7 seater for about 100€ but with 7 people plus camera back packs could be a bit tight. So better to go for 7 seater van which is starting at 150€.
Zak (netAirspace FAA) 15 Jan 17, 23:58Post
Yup. Two 4-seaters are cheaper than one 7-seater.

As I will arrive earlier in the afternoon than Jochen and Thorsten I think I can rent a car and take Chris with me (plus of course other fellow members if someone is willing to join). I've had a look this evening and saw rentals starting at ... 1.09€ for the week-end {bugeye}

I can get it cheaper... Got an offer for 1,08€ :)) But thats without insurance, fuel and km are limited.

As, Jeff now rents his own car, we can take Marcelha & 90flyhigh in our car. I think thats the best option as we are in the same hotel.

Agreed, and this gives Jeff and I the option to go with the Expo at the cheaper rate - anyone else adding on might want to look at the Expo too...decent rates and two spare seats :)

Just in case someone wants and/or needs to stay at rock bottom rates at a 1*-hotel, the Transit Hotel nearby is in a good location but w/o noise from street traffic. I can´t tell about their rooms, but in March you will not need any a/c.
Don´t be fooled by the name "Transit": It is not located within the station, but like 100 m away, around the corner from the Expo hotel in C/ de Rector Triado.
Off-site breakfast options by means of independent cafés are quite a few around, most of them long established.

Any markets nearby to get water to take with us?

There is a Carrefour hypermarket north of the Airport at El Prat de Llobregat, on the way to the city.

For reasons that I really don't want to go into right now, I'm out. Just to save the usual lingering hope of being able to make this, I've cancelled all bookings.
