Boeing has announced a fourth rate cut for the 747-8 programme over a two-year period, lowering monthly output to only one per month beginning in March 2016. The latest planned reduction will cut the monthly production rate for the 747-8 by half compared to where it stood in early 2015. AirAsia Says European Union Ban Lifted
The European Commission has lifted a ban on the Philippine unit of Malaysia's AirAsia offering services to European Union (EU) member countries, an executive of the airline said. The lifting of the ban which was imposed in 2010 comes as a rare spot of good news for the AirAsia group, which is currently under a cloud after a report questioning the Malaysian company's accounts sent its share price tumbling. With the lifting of the ban, the local AirAsia unit could launch a European service in the next three to five years, depending on market demand, director Alfredo Yao said.

Boeing touts KC-46A cost, combat design ahead of Korean decision
With South Korea just weeks away from selecting an aerial refuelling tanker, Boeing is touting the combat capability and lower projected life-cycle cost of its KC-46A offering as reasons for a Pegasus downselect. The Boeing KC-46A tanker is going up against the Airbus A330-based Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) and a converted B767-200ER MRTT design offered by Israel Aerospace Industries. My goodness, I thought ORD was stopping at four east-west runways. I didn't realize they were building a fifth!

Wait, is the plan five east-west, or six? Will all the other four runways stay open?

I can't think of another commercial airport with eight runways, never mind nine!

Even more amazing, it has NINE category II/III approaches. Wow!
