A high-speed pass that takes a full minute. {laugh}

Fun video to watch, though!
Slider... <sniff, sniff>... you stink.

Hey, a Chinook ain't no jet fighter ;)

I think it still looked pretty fast for a heli. Great video! {thumbsup}

It is faster than an Apache.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

I've seen a MH-47G do a heritage flight with a B-25. Impressive.

The newest engine and rotor upgrades, like those on that RNLAF bird, allow the CH-47 to hit 175mph in level flight. No slouch for a chopper. The Block II and Block III upgrades are expected to take that even higher.

And most people don't believe this when you tell them. Wish I had video from some of the low passes the test pilots did when I worked in Ridley Park. One Saturday I thought the guy was going to go through the building; pulled up at the very last second and the downwash was so strong you could see the windows of the building moving in and out noticeably. Damn loud too.

Funny, I was first about to write "Hey, a Chinook ain't no Apache". But then I was wondering if an Apache was actually faster, had my doubts, and switched to "jet fighter" instead. :)

It's even more fun with Buccaneers. The week they retired those was {bugeye} Air Traffic told us they were inbound, we were stood out there waiting - should have lain down. We had a small hump in the middle of the airfield and didn't see them coming, buggers couldn't have dropped the gear without ploughing a furrow up the grass taxiway. They had to pull up to (just) clear the Portakabin.

"NICE BUCCANEERS!"
"YEAH, MY *UCKIN' EARS HURT TOO!"
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.
