A spokesman for Switzerland's Federal Office of Civil Aviation (BAZL) said on Saturday that had allayed concerns about Etihad's control of Darwin, but the agency still had questions about the resources Etihad wants to invest in the Swiss airline.

The airline partners with Verizon and other sponsors, such as Time and the Wall Street Journal, to cover the cost of the service. "Our customers are actually going to pay us nothing for a fantastic broadband experience," St. George said.

The white and yellow fuselage is similar to 49% shareholder Scoot’s livery on its own 777s, while the distinct NokScoot logo is featured on the tailfin. It also bears the ‘beak’ motif found on Nok Air’s 737s. The Thai budget carrier also owns a 49% stake in NokScoot, with the remaining 2% held by a company established by Nok's management.

"Revenue from the ticket is barely covering costs these days," Uwe Klenovsky, Commercial Director of Thomas Cook Airlines, said at the CAPA World Aviation Summit in Antwerp.
