This is your boat on drugs. Any questions?

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

Royal Navy frigate working with US customs, nabs £33 million worth of coke and blows the speedboat to bits.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Good god is that the first time they were allowed to shoot those guns? My grandma shoots better then that.

Well, the Royal Navy did win the 2000 Ig Nobel Peace Prize for having its sailors shout "Bang!" instead of firing live rounds...

I thought it took a lot of rounds, but (1) I've seen too many movies, (2) I've never fired a gun at a boat from another boat, and (3) I've never fired a gun at all. I'll leave the commentary on the marksmanship to the likes of Halls. :)

They probably don't get to shoot very often.. They wanted to make the moment last.

They should invest in one of these. :)

I'll weigh in here to disagree.

Having been mount captain for a 5"/38 and 3" deck gun during live fire exercises, and having fired a .50 cal MG while at sea, it is much harder to hit the target than you can imagine. Your ship isn't stationary, and neither is the target.

You think it's so easy? Do this. Go set up a trampoline at a firing range. Have the range master raise and lower the target, and you can only shoot your weapon while jumping up and down.

Let us know how it works out. :))
At home in the PNW and loving it

Not sure that the boat was on drugs Shanwick?

I like the excuse for a bit of target practise - apparently the speedboat presented a hazard to shipping :))

Excellent work by the Royal Navy {thumbsup}
A million great ideas...
