....NAS member to have swine flu?

Long story cut short, I was extremely rough about four weeks ago - nasty headache, sweating like MJ's doctor, orange snot (may have been caused by sneezing while eating Wotsits :)) ). Our local health centre were testing at the time so I had a blood test and it came back a few minutes ago (that's NHS efficiency for you {sarcastic}), confirming that I did indeed have piggy flu.

I can honestly say I've had far worse colds and managed to get through several social events without carking. Of course, swine flu does serve as a handy diversion when there are mounting questions of our government's handling of the Afghanistan conflict, so the mass hysteria is very welcome in parliament ;)
A million great ideas...

Oh wait.. this is just the internet.

And I bet that when you tell people this, they panic.
You're probably about over with it if you've had it for a month.

Orange snot eh?

No HAM meet for you, then... {crazy} {redflag} :))

Seriously, get well soon. Guess it's not the end of the world - after all, it's still a flu - but don't take it too lightly, either. I think I just read yesterday that swine flu will potentially damage your liver (or was it the lungs? Anyway, some vital body part...)

Yep, stay the heck away from me while I'm on immunosuppressants!

Get well soon. But go on a tour of the Houses of Pariament first, eh? {mischief}
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Are they certain its Swine Flu ? Can you get a second opinion ?

After all as a resident of Blackpool there's doubtless all sorts of nasty diseases you can get up there: Typhoid, Yellow Fever, not Maleria obviously as you need some warm weather for that, Ebola, Bubonic Plague.....

Doesn't matter now. He's had it. He's over it. And he's waaaay past the contagious stage. In fact, he probably won't get it again since he's built up antibodies for it.

I'm fine and have long since got over it. I doubt I've been contagious for a few weeks now. I don't think swine flu can do anything to my liver that I haven't already self-inflicted through years of socialising ;)

Yep, they're sure it's the human (swine flu derived) strain of influenza, but if I'd had a slightly heavier weekend I might not have even noticed I was ill. It turns out that the disease is pretty rampant up here:-

No real surprise in a tourist town full of Scots.

We're currently organising a coach trip darn sarf to infect all the work shy, jacket-wearing fairies with our proper 'ard Northern strain. Grrrr. :))

You can stay out of Devon! :o ;)

I had awful flu/virul meningitus (different doctors decided on different diagnosis) a month or so back, really felt like dieing for almost a week and one of the reasons the doctor told me it wasn't Swine Flu was that I'd be much better if I had indeed got it.

How does it compare to getting the normal flu?

I have yet to buy into this media hype.

Me and Cherie, what can I say. Expect Drew Barrymore, Beyonce and Maria Bello to be diagnosed soon ;)

Do you take requests? There's a weird girl in Manchester who stalks me, she looks a bit like a pig, so it would only be fitting for her to get swine flu... {cry}

Is it the flu itself, or the tequila used to alleviate the symptoms? {mischief}
Money can't buy happiness; but it can get you flying, which is pretty much the same.

You do seem to have paid Bolivia and Peru a visit, even the heavily transfigured made-up stewardesses on AeroSur wore face masks. Can't say I'd have wanted them not to, if I'm brutally honest. {duck}
