My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

#1, although it doesn't have 10 votes yet:

The FedEx shot seems like a really random one....

Oh, I don't know... interesting bird, nice light, nice angle, gear in transit, there's a lot to like about that one.

Nice selection, though the Air Jamaica seems a little out of place when I look at some of the ones in places 11-20! It's also ruined my nice grid as I used a different aspect ratio at the time! {blush}
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Love that engine shot, and the helicopters despite their being helicopters.

That might be my fault, emotional attachment and all that {blush} Although with nearly 70 votes, they can't *all* be mine...

There's one of mine just below the top 10 that I'd have expected to be higher, except it took an absolute thrashing at the beginning; it's coming up nicely now, though. Another I thought would do well isn't even in my top 100 at the moment...

The audience here clearly likes SXM. Well, okay, who doesn't... :))

The light in that shot is gorgeous.

Thanks. Those colours sure work. And the audience here clearly likes blue skies as well. ;)

It seems I have only 10 photos in the database!

Will have to remedy that.
Lovin' the smell of avgas in the morning....

I've never really been a fan of the NKC-135 shot, so I'm surprised it ranks so high.

Heh, fair enough, and thanks. I take a lot of sunset light shots, and I personally like a lot of other ones better, but hey, I'll take it!

The audience also clearly likes evening sunlight. {thumbsup}

I guess that is one of these shots where you only realize how gorgeous they are when you watch them full-screen.

Yes, please do! I really like the local flavour in your shots.

Definitely a favourite, I'd rank it above the VS shot personally :)

It's an interesting aircraft, though... and I see your number 1 shot is top of the "Most loved today" on the homepage at the moment {thumbsup}

Interesting new stats. Nice job! And some nice images all around as well. {thumbsup}

My top 10, certainly some randoms ones in there, probably to do with some images only having a low a number of total votes.

Ok here's my efforts. Rather dominated by pics from SA it seems.

Confess I'm surprised by my No.1 photo though. I didn't think it was a particularly special photo, more of interest because the Mango 737 was right up the chuff of one of its' big brothers...

I've wondered about this occasionally... If we were to make an image about 40x500 (20,000 pixels), then reduce each photo in the DB to 1x1 and put it on there in descending AvB order, would we see a lot of orange and blue pixels at the top and a lot of grey at the bottom?

As if my to-do list wasn't long enough already {laugh}

I don't know, but now you HAVE to do it.

Yes, but I figured you could do some kind of fancy webmagic to get it done.

Nosedive would screw it up with his black-and-white photos anyway... {grumpy}

ShanwickOceanic (netAirspace FAA) 18 Feb 13, 21:04Post
Nice ones JL, especially 9 and 10. I'm in two of the others :))

cornish, got to love that SA stuff. A really nice mix all round.

Dave, a couple of times I've had to choose between your 2 and 3, and I'm still torn between the sheer awesomeness of that Flybe shot and that gorgeous Thai...
