On Feb. 1, 2013, Iran unveiled its indigenous fighter jet named “Qaher 313″.

The prototype of the Q-313 (or F-313 according to the stencils applied to the aircraft), was presented to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and publicly displayed as part of the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies held in Iran to celebrate the 1979′s victory of the Islamic Revolution.

So true.

Niiice. I'm certain I've seen more realistic mock-ups in theme parks.

Freeze the video after 3 seconds,so you can get the scale of the aircraft relative to the people on the ground-notice anything?

Yes,it`s a remote control model!!! I could even tell by the noise of the engine. Also looks like one of the guys on the ground has the controller in his hand.

You would think he would stay out of shot

Why is there such as conspicuous 'danger' sign in English? Is this the export model?

Yes. The plan is to have it in toy stores in time for Christmas.

I believe that it has a lessor avionics suite than a new Skyhawk.

In that case we're doing Iran a great dis-service - that's clearly a fibreglass mock-up, not a ply wood one.
A million great ideas...

They are obviously sharing technology with the Soviets. Only problem is they are about 31 years behind them.

This thread may not be the right place for it, but it reminded me of Iran Air and the model of the aircraft in the window of their London office in Picadilly. It's still there, opposite the Ritz hotel, close to Green Park, for anyone who is passing and wants to take a look.

Why fly on a boring outmoded 777 or A330 when Iran Air offers you futuristic supersonic travel......

As a gesture of goodwill we should offer Iran a place at the Paris Air Show where they could come and show off their new toy against a Raptor and a Typhoon.

I think the Caltech has been commissioned by the IIRC to build their mockups.

This is at the top of the page on anet right now, an Iranian attack helicopter that should strike fear into the heart of... well, heterosexual male helicopter pilots, anyway:

They even knocked off a cheap copy of Hawaiian Airlines old livery to paint it with!!

Obviously the same model maker made this helicopter as well.
