Damned Rain....

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

Rain rant. According to the National Weather Service radar, there's a heavy thunderstorm over my little town right now. It's been there for an hour and a half. And it's not moving. And it's only 5 MILES in diameter. It's already dropped two inches of rain. Called a friend in the town three miles west of me and they have partly cloudy skies. Likewise in the town four miles to the east. {bored}

My flowers are washing out. And they were nearly perfect! All the petals on the impatiens are washed off. My petunias are beaten down. The violas are flattened. The tomato plants are swimming. {grumpy}

And there's a leak in my roof. I can hear it dripping on the sheetrock ceiling right over the entertainment center in the living room. {guilty}

We just had a torrential downpour here - I was on the motorway at the time, and it practically flooded the road. Visibility was down to about 50m.

A bit of lightning would have made it truly spectacular!

Not that it would be aesthetically pleasing, but if you got insect screens that are used at greenhouses, they could probably be of use - wouldn't have the rain beating down on everything.

That sucks! I had some potted flowers almost all get the exact same treatment recently. Managed to run out and move them inside before they were all destroyed, but still lost a bunch.

For the last couple of days, my corner of the country has been like the rainforest: hot in the morning and until noon, then torrential showers for ten to sixty minutes and then hot, sunny and humid until it cooled off during the night. Bull****. {crazy}

Please send that rain down here. We are in a bad drought this summer, which is really just a continuation of last summer. Central TX weather really sucks. It's been 105 here for the past 3 weeks.
