The crew of a governmental Global 5000 jet, operated by German Luftwaffe, will have a few questions to answer. Apparently, they forgot to remove the gear pins prior to a flight that was supposed to deliver German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle from Strasbourg to Berlin.

The mishap was discovered only after takeoff, when the gear would not retract. They returned to Strasbourg, removed the pins, and made it to Berlin on the second attempt.

A German Air Force spokesperson said the incident was under internal investigation. {drillsergeant}
