Why you should watch: It quickly explains a small element of physics without making you feel stupid.

What do you all have?

Wow, didn't even have time to blow a neural circuit. It was over so fast! Good video.

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, and every year, at 10:00 AM, Israel observes two minutes of complete silence. A siren, heard here outside of Tel Aviv, signals for people to stop whatever they are doing. Yes, even driving.
Watching as cars stop in the middle of the highway is one of the most forceful images of this annual remembrance.

Incredible display of remembrance.
We live in a galaxy far far away and we STILL have to connect in ATL.

Now that is way cool . . . and that, by the way, was today. Holocaust Remembrance Day . . .

/On my 1/4 Israeli Blood Rant/

I saw a FB post recently where someone (and we know that person here) decided that we should have a NATIONAL HOLIDAY in the name of a professional baseball player . . .

If we NEED another National Holiday, it should be this. Baseball Players are a dime a dozen . . . the Holocaust, God forbid, shall happen but once.

How the light saber sound came about.

And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Why? Because it's a flying speed hump MD-11 in all its cumbersome glory (you may want to watch on mute though).

The Police Tapes. It's a 1977 PBS documentary shot in the South Bronx with the 44th NYPD precinct. It shows the extremely gritty desolate view of urban life in the 70's and how officers have resigned themselves to the fact they are just trying to keep a lid on a cesspool.

I like that.

Actually watched this not too long ago. Space and back in 15 minutes, first of anyone in his hemisphere, and only the second human to do so. I'm surprised that Redstone had enough lift to get his balls off the ground.

Here's a must-watch for any mechanic, engineer, or otherwise, on the purpose & use of automotive differentials. It's old, but it's very intuitive because of its simplicity:

I've watched this round over and over.

Its a great round between Micky Ward (The Fighter) vs. Arturo Gatti

Gatti is one bad ass for taking those hits and staying up. Anyone else would have fallen after 20 seconds.

The whole trilogy of fights between the two was ridiculous. I hosted an all-nighter where we all stayed up for the third fight, and our neighbours were not impressed!

I think the fights still available on DVD, with interviews from both fighters. Well worth looking out for.

Its just great boxing that you don't see too often.

At the end of the third fight Gatti was coughing up blood. A battered and bruised Ward brought the man who had just beaten him into retirement a bottle of water {thumbsup}

RIP Thunder {vsad}

That was classy boxing, something I would take over MMA anyday. Gatti had a long and great career.

Yeah, he was screwed, the right result was 116-112 to Pacquiao. I watched the fight with a group containing two current pros and a couple of us who have also stepped in the ring in the past, and we all had it 117-112 to 115-113. Nobody saw a Bradley win or anything even close.

The Nevada State Athletics Commission have refused to investigate the scoring and there are now some calls for a criminal investigation into what many see as an influenced decision by two of the judges.

It took four minutes from torpedo hits to sinking.
