He's being made out as something of a saint here in the UK - it amazes me how often we do that here when somebody famous dies.

I will always view MJ as a wasted talent, a man who had it all and threw it away to satisfy his own twisted fantasies. No sympathy here.

Watching international media, you'd think that the Pope died.

He was a good entertainer but as is often the case, his personal life was a disaster mainly of his own making. Heavily in debt and heavily medicated is no way to live a life.

When EMTs arrived at Michael Jackson's home yesterday, the medics wanted to pronounce him dead on the scene -- but Michael's personal doctor refused to let them "call it" -- this according to sources close to the situation.

When EMTs arrived there was evidence someone had been performing CPR on Michael for "quite some time." There was evidence of Lidocaine -- an old-school drug that can be used to treat disturbances in the heart's rhythm. Medics took over performing CPR but determined Jackson was lifeless -- and wanted to call the coroner to pick up the body.

We're told Jackson was flat-lined when EMTs arrived.

But our sources say M.J.'s doc demanded EMTs continue performing CPR anyway, and demanded that they take Michael to the hospital.

Once they arrived at UCLA, we're told Jackson's doc continued to personally administer CPR -- even though it was clear Jackson was already gone.

Possibly. Depends on what LAPD and the coroner finds.

It's strange for a 50 year old to have an in-house doctor available at his beck and call. I suspect all this doc was hired to do was provide him the drugs that Jackson demanded. Not only is it unethical, but a case could be made if the cops and coroner can link the meds to the death. I hope the LAPD locked down the scene and treated it like a crime scene and not simply an EMS assist.

The doc was from Texas. It'd be interesting if he had a California medical license. And why did the doc disappear for nearly 18 hours?
