One of my old friends from where I grew up took this pic this morning and sent it to me. That's about 20 miles south of KSC...

When I lived down there they'd always fly down the beach when they brought the Shuttles home...

Pretty cool watching it on NASA TV, they're making a low approach now and then are expected to land.

My wife is at IAD changing planes right now and she told me as soon as they landed she saw the Shuttle still attached to the 747.

She took a few shots with the point and shoot, so hopefully, she got some decent pics. If so I'll post when she comes home...

The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers...

Space Shuttle Enterprise En Route to NYC on Jet

Enterprise comes to New York as part of NASA's process of wrapping up the shuttle program, which ended last summer. At the Smithsonian, its place has been taken by the shuttle Discovery. Shuttle Endeavor is going to Los Angeles and shuttle Atlantis is staying at Florida's Kennedy Space Center.

Quite. I see they've trotted out basically the same plan for Enterprise as they did for Concorde, and someone at NASA fell for it. Just need some truck driver to take Enterprise's nose off now.
