Unique - yes, because the commandant has always been a commissioned officer - for whatever reason, the ONLY NCO Academy command and billet filled by a commissioned officer. It's about time the Army got off that bullshit and turned training NCOs over to NCOs.

Chandler joined the Army in 1981, and stayed at Knox after basic training. He was assigned to the 3/81 Armor there. Unfortunately, I'm dating myself - yet again - when I can say he was assigned as a training NCO in my Basic/AIT company at Knox.

Press on Sergeant Major Chandler, you'll be a GREAT Commandant of USASMA. Ultima!!!

There are loads of female CSMs.

Not one has made SMA yet, but as for CSMs, yeah, about 20% are female.

Of the 1100 or so CSMs Army wide, there's probably 200. A CSM is a CSM, all qualified the same at USASMA, all schooled at Charm School at USASMA, Ft. Bliss.

Pretty cool huh, million plus troops and there's only 1100 or so of "us".

Yeah, that's why I was wondering about whether or not there were any female CSM's. At 20%, that's right in line with the 20% average of recruits being female.
