Should we invade Washington D.C., take it in the name of the United States, and make it the Capital of our country, leaving the corrupt politicians and special interest groups to die on the vine?

And those lobbyists that have the big money to pass around in order to corrupt the likes of William Jefferson, Mr. Duncan, Tom Delay major clients are big business most notably the major financial companies, the Wal-Marts, oil companies. These companies use the government to protect their interest and they don't give a damn about the citizens. NAFTA is a prime example. The companies have more power than the government under this agreement.

What a great choice of analogy there.
I was just at the Normandy beaches, tons of veterans around. Why don't you go tell them that about your anti-tax rally?

Having similar sentiments about government spending and high taxes is different than analogizing a friggen protest to D-Day.

When did I say don't do it or question the merit or concept of the protest?

Do it at the ballot box. It seems that there is rampant hypocrisy at work here. Every guy in Washington is dirty, except for the guy I voted for. No? You need to take this fight to your state and local party organizations. They're the ones that fund and groom the folks that ultimately make their way to DC.

Yes...the disapproval of analogizing it to D-Day..
Also, while I think you are right in principle about the terms origins, I think 99% of people only think of one event.
This definition, FWIW, might say it best, not that theres any official definition: D-Day: Originally the term for the date when a mission or operation took place, but now associated with 6th June 1944, D-Day for Operation Overlord.
