OK, so Travel Channel has Man Vs Food and Food Network has Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

I watch 'em both. Amazing the number of ideas I get for my own menu watching them. I also get ideas about what I do NOT want to serve at my restaurant, but I also serve some of that stuff at home. Some things are just not conducive to this grid square (meat and taters crowd mostly) or would be just too damn labor intensive for a single chef at night.

So anyway.

Who watches either or both.

And take the poll.

MvF only because I tolerate Guy Fieri about as much as I would the clap, or my ex.

Wow, difficult question. I really enjoy watching them both because they visit local establishments and show the food you can enjoy there. I've been to restaurants because I saw them on one of those shows. Adam has put on weight since MvF started, which is probably why he has other people doing challenges now. Guy Fieri doesn't bother me in DD&D. How I feel about him in Minute to Win It is the subject for another thread.
We live in a galaxy far far away and we STILL have to connect in ATL.

Friend of mine and his wife drove Outside (that would be out of Alaska to us Eskimos) last Summer and MAPPED their DINNER STOPS at Diners, Drive Ins and Dives locations all over the West Coast. He visited prolly 30 places they'd been to based on the shows and his itinerary/location.

{crazy} I know, but still. Talk about GREAT advertisement - and pretty much free too.

Mike said some of the places were really DIVES but he had a great time visiting.

My feelings exactly - including your thoughts about Minute To Win It. I've been to several of the places around here that have been featured on DD&D - most I'd been to before, but a couple that I hadn't.

I didn't vote - there isn't an option for both.
Rack-em'. I'm getting a beer.

I watch DD&D every now and then, but have never watched MvF. Is it worth it?

In the "Is it Worth It" Department, yes and no. Twenty minutes of seeing a new creation in a kitchen - different than DDD, but not when it comes to John Wayne glomming down the 45 pounds of over cooked, deep fried crap in 10 minutes or less . . . . I could care less about that part. But I'm always in the amrket for new stuff.

By the By, DDD got my vote above. Guy is well . . . Guy, but I like him. And he's making it work, no matter what. Man V Food is cool, but is nowhere near DDD.

potato.

DDD ruins most of the good secrets in any town. After that show runs someplace local the line is wrapped around the building 3 times when it used to be no waiting for a table. Fuck that.

man vs food usually makes me queasy to watch.
I like my coffee how I like my women: Black, bitter, and preferably fair trade.

I enjoy watching chefs create stuff on TV (unless I'm hungry), so I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
