Just got done cleaning the cars and bike. The bike may be on its way out but that is another story.

What do you use to keep them shinny?

This what I use and for what.

Rain-X >> Crystal clear driving in the rain
Liquid Glass >> protects the paint and keeps it shiny
Mothers metal polish >> Keeps the metal shiny
Black Magic >> shiny tires
Armor All >> protect the inside
Zymol >> For cleaning a car that others have neglected, then with the Liquid Glass
Mobile One >> makes for a happy engine
Bud Ice >> Helps lubricate the care cleaner

I can't stand cars with that black crap on their tires...

I use just about everything you list minus Rain X.

Of course don't forget the shammy and California brush. Though nothing beats dropping the car off for a nice detail and picking it up later that day..... {bugeye}

Back when I wasn't lazy, I used this stuff called RejeX instead of wax. Far easier to apply, lasts a hell of a lot longer.

{check} Best car care product ever invented.

See above. Try it, and you'll be damn glad you did during the next storm.

{check} {check} Agreed - and put the Rain-X on right after I get it home. {thumbsup} ;)

I washed my truck three years ago. Waxed it seven years old. But, the interior is clean. That's what counts. I use Windex to clean everything. Screw the Armor All and related crap that makes your dashboard all slippery...makes it look fake and unnatural.

And the engine is pretty clean. No leaks. No spills.

Queso... I love that Wax As You Dry stuff!

I'm not a big fan of Rain-X though.

One of the worst filters you can buy. I used to bring my own Motorcraft FL-1A with me to the Quickee-Lube when I got my oil changed to make sure they don't put on their usual Fram garbage.

Really? I've never used anything but that in all my cars. Sure beats $25 at the stealership.

Mark is right, Cadet. Fram filters are bottom of the barrel. They've had some media failures which caused spot oil starvation in engines and their anti-drainback valves suck, which means your engine is running without lubrication for a short time after startup.

Hm, wow... I wonder what the OEM equivalent to my filter is, $25 a pop isnt very appealing.

What do I use to keep my car nice and shiny?

The local Kosovans :))

In my town they have a particularly good hand car washing and cleaning service - they're not expensive, and always do a really good job on mine (I give them a good tip and i'm a regular) inside and out.

I live in a flat, so washing the car myself is just more hassle than its worth...

Since you're driving an import, I'd be looking for a Denso or a Wix or maybe a Mobil 1. If you can't find them locally it might be worth buying a few at a time on teh interwebs. That's probably what I would be doing, anyway.

You'd be amazed at the car parts available on eBay. The only part I've had to buy locally in the past five years are a set of spark plug wires because I wasn't sure of which of two different distributor end connections I needed. Go to the oil filter's web page, search to find the filter number needed for your car, then go to eBay.

Whenever i've needed parts, Autozone always had the oem equivalent, usually takes 1-2 business days, but its not a biggie. I did a quick google search, and I've found a few places that sell the filters, one place had them for $5.50 a pop, or a case of 10 for $57. But I've never heard of the place so im kind weary about buying there.

That's a whole other thread, we won't even get started on the pros and cons and rumors of Mobil1.

We have a similar service operated by a group of highly enthusiastic Romanians. Those guys manage to get my rims shining far better than I ever could :))
A million great ideas...

I'll doubt thatyou'll get "Wix" filters in Germany, at least not under this name. Nobody would buy a spare part called "wank" :)

Same reason Nova's didn't do well in Mexico. ;)
