The leukemia part is a hoax.

Performed by a German known as "the trainrider". Before he died from leukemia, he enjoyed the last year of his life by surfing on trains. Included Germany's fastest Highspeed train ICE with a top speed of 330 km/h(!) No one did that before. Never to be forgotten R.I.P.

Amazing.

From the linked videos at the end:

Good story (and those closing train doors at the end are a very nice touch), but yes, a hoax.

Unless of course this guy's faking it :)
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

He appeared on TV here last year.
Here's the German vid: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/1284040/Trainrider_im_TV

The leukemia hoax was created by some Dutch guy.

I did notice that he had the vacuum pump and seemed well prepared for the ride.

He's an experienced train-surfer and is well known all over Europe, so it's unsurprising that he's well prepared. Why he felt the need to fake his own seath is beyond me - the video was spectacular enough without further reason to watch it.
A million great ideas...

Well I guess the inexperienced and unprepared trainsurfers probably don't last that long {silly}

Maybe he doesn't want the railway cops (German federal police) go after him, after all he left lots of evidence on the net. If theythink that he is already dead, they'll probably won't pursue the matter further.
