The high groove moves much faster than the low groove around both Talladega and Daytona when two cars are drafting together.
IIRC Toney Stewart won a race at Talladega on the high side passing a bunch of cars on the last half lap, and Jeff Burton won a Firecracker 400 that way, as well. You get more momentum coming off the turns, esp coming out of 2 and 4, and it carries you past those on the low side.
As for Fox, I've been partial to Darrell Waltrip since he was winning his three titles ('81, '82, and '85), the years when it wasn't cool to be a
DW fan (you had to like either Richard Petty or Cale)...so I have no problems whatsoever with his lingo.
edit to add: I'll lay odds that Kezelowski pulls the same trick Ron Bouchard, Bobby Hillin, and a bunch of others pulled...this'll be his only career Cup win.
