Some type of humming bird is all I know.

Thanks. This was one of those spur of the moment shots. I was driving home and thought the light looked pretty good and decided to give it a shot.

Ahhh, beautiful photos Nosedive. Where were they taken? Looks like NH or VT.

A photo from the USC game this past Saturday (just for Nosedive). Quality isn't great, cause it was an iPhone shot, but I liked downtown LA being visible in the upper left:

OK. I will instead insult Colorado by knowing it is a terrible football team.

In the great CA vs CO debate, there is only one clear winner. NM. We have Hatch Chile. :))

Now back to the pictures....

I call this one, "Cooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaal Train." Or maybe, "Coaltrain. Roscoe P. Coaltrain."

Took this photo from the same highway as the previous photos but a bit further north:

Disclaimer: I don't like dressing up dogs for Halloween. But you pick your battles....

Anyway, apparently Ben agrees with me. He was all smiles at his Halloween photo session...

...except when he had his costume on...

...then back to smiles after:

Finally have internet at my new apartment. Couple shots celebrating my new neighborhood:

Fog rolling in over San Pedro and the Port of LA (no, that's not my house....unfortunately):

Say, I can see my place from there. :))

Great shots, and I'm jealous, San Pedro seems like a great little community. {thumbsup} I'm actually working on a project there as we speak.

Thanks! And yeah, I'm loving San Pedro so far. The eastern part is a bit ghetto (down by Gaffey and Pacific), but the central and western parts are pretty nice. It feels both busier (during the day) and quieter (at night) than Redondo.

Heh, yeah, down by the water and the docks...I know what you mean. Our project is up on 22nd street by an elementary school.

I've spent many many hours up there playing basketball at the Korean friendship thingy that was also in The Usual Suspects.

The wind can be a pain while playing hoops. Also used to visit the Sealion rescue place and play around the cannons.

Well, since I can't fall asleep yet because I'm back on the east coast for a week, I'll post some more photos.

There's a neighborhood in Torrance, CA that does major Christmas lights/decorations every year. Took photos there last year and this year. Here are some from this past Friday evening:

Always good to get some aviation in there:

Silly Vik didn't bring his tripod into Boston this evening. Dammit.

So here are a couple photos taken at 1 second exposure and ISO3200. Balanced the camera on the railing above the river, and tried not to shiver.

Hey, that rhymes.

No noise reduction or anything, cause I don't have Photoshop or anything here. And yeah, it was freaking cold.

I'll post some better-edited ones when I'm back in CA.
