Visible anywhere on the Pacific side of the world, though you'll have to get up early to catch it in the US.

Well that's a buncha crap. On any normal weekday, I'd only have to get up 30 minutes early to catch totality. But this is on a Saturday.
What a nonsensical eclipse timetable! To whom do I address a polite but forceful letter about this?

Nice. I woke up at 4:50, rolled over, and went back to sleep.

Thanks, Vik. I know the feeling. I used to get up all the time for meteor showers but after seeing some spectacular ones I've lost interest for now and can't be bothered.
