About an hour ago I watched a restored B-17 Flying Fortress coming in to on final approach to Boeing Field. A few minutes later, a restored B-24 Liberator did the same. All with a nice evening sun glow over Puget Sound.

God I love this town.

A few years ago we had similar warbird traffic around MAF because of the CAF being here, but now it's rare. Fifi (B-29) is supposed to fly for the first time in several years next Tuesday morning though.

Indeed. I got to crawl through both of these exact birds at a Boeing hangar a few years ago while they were being restored...the B-24 is definitely cramped quarters. And there is no way in hell I would ever go near that Ball Turret on the B-17... no freaking way.

Where do they normally keep these birds? Are they ever any that are kept at Wright-Patterson AFB?

I thought that this pair always flew together. Went into them once, and the hung around while it took off with paying passengers for a scenic flight.
