An F-15 out of Barnes ANG in Westfield has crashed in VA. No sign of the crew, VA state police are reporting a fire. Not looking good. {vsad}

Pilot not found in the wreckage, rescue crews from Barnes left last night on a C-130 out of BDL to join the search in VA. They are thinking that if the pilot cut his chute/gear he/she may have lost their radio. I thought ejector seats had a locator beacon that activated on deployment?

They do, unfortunately one in four locators fail upon deployment: http://www.airforcetimes.com/article/20 ... table-rate

On the plus side, that does give more hope that the pilot is alive out there.
A million great ideas...
