Norwegian puts up slots to delay bond repayment
Scandinavian budget carrier Norwegian is putting up slots at London Gatwick as part of an exchange package as it seeks to delay repayment of unsecured bonds.
The airline says it is requesting extension of the maturity dates for two sets of unsecured bonds – designated NAS07 and NAS08 – until November 2021 and February 2022.

Wizz Air receives final regular A321
Central European budget carrier Wizz Air has taken delivery of its final Airbus A321, with all future Airbus single-aisle deliveries exclusively set to be re-engined aircraft.
The airline had 112 of the conventional A320 family on order – comprising 40 A321s and 72 A320s – and the last A321 takes its overall fleet to 119 aircraft.

KLM revealed as customer for two more 777-300ERs
Dutch carrier KLM has ordered another pair of Boeing 777-300ER twinjets, the US airframer has disclosed.
The aircraft – powered by General Electric GE90 engines – had previously been listed on the Boeing backlog but attributed to an unidentified customer.

PICTURE: Kuwait Airways takes first A320neo
Kuwait Airways has received its first Airbus A320neo, the first of 15 of the type ordered by the Gulf carrier.
The aircraft (9K-AKL) was handed over at the airframer's Hamburg Finkenwerder plant.

Higher costs drag on China Eastern first half profit
China Eastern Airlines’s first half operating profit dived 5% to CNY5.16 billion ($712 million) on the back of increasing expenses.
The airline’s revenue for the six months ended 30 June went up 8% to CNY58.9 billion. However, expenses for the six months ended 30 June grew faster at 8.9% to CNY57.1 billion.

Western Sydney Airport is looking for a construction partner
Due to open in 2026, Western Sydney International is looking for a firm who can complete the airport’s ambitious plans for the terminal building.
Western Sydney Airport CEO, Graham Millett, said registrations of interest are expected from both Australian and global consortia as construction firms make their pitch to be part of the once-in-a-generation airport project.

LAX has seen Wi-Fi speeds grow more than 540 per cent since 2016
Wi-Fi speeds at LAX now exceed 70 Mbps, placing the airport 16th in a list of the top 51 airports for Wi-Fi speed within the U.S. and Canada.

Work has begun on the airfield development at Auckland Airport as 40 million passengers and 260,000 flights are expected to use the airport by 2044.
