Speaking at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on charter services with major Malaysian tour operators, MAB CCO Paul Simmons said there is “strong demand” for more charter capacity on the China-Malaysia route to Sabah. He added there is also good potential for religious travel charters to Middle East destinations.

An interim agreement was reached in June of 2015 that covered wages, job security, and benefits. Spirit Airlines and the IAM were committed to negotiating a mutually agreeable contract that addresses the needs and concerns of Spirit’s ramp service team members and the airline. The ratification vote will take place during the week of June 20, 2016.
