AirBridgeCargo takes delivery of 747-8Fs
Boeing delivered two 747-8Fs to AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), part of Volga-Dnepr Group. The aircraft are the first to be delivered as part a memorandum of understanding between Boeing and Volga-Dnepr Group at the Paris Air Show in June 2015. The aircraft will be deployed on the expanding network under winter schedule 2015/2016, between Asia and the US.

Flight attendants vote in favor of contract at Air Canada
Air Canada flight attendants approved a 10-year contract with the carrier. "This is a win-win agreement that will provide added stability and flexibility while acknowledging the important contribution of our flight attendants toward Air Canada’s future success," said Benjamin Smith, president of passenger airlines at Air Canada.

Two Air France Flights From US To Paris Diverted
Two Air France flights en route to Paris from the United States were diverted following anonymous bomb threats. Flight AF65, an Airbus A380 that departed from Los Angeles landed in Salt Lake City, where passengers and crew were taken off the plane and taken to the terminal, an FAA spokesman said. The Salt Lake Tribune, citing an airport official, said the plane was carrying 497 passengers and crew.

Cargolux, trade unions reach agreement; pilot discussions ongoing
Luxembourg-based Cargolux Airlines and its OGBL and LCGB trade unions—which represent 750 ground staff—have reached a principle agreement in the latest round of negotiations. The current collective agreement, which was canceled by Cargolux management at the end of last year, is set to expire Dec. 1.

Colorful Guizhou Airlines to launch inaugural flight Dec. 28
China’s new regional startup Colorful Guizhou Airlines is scheduled to launch its inaugural flight Dec. 28, according to chairman Zhai Yan. He said the new carrier plans to operate an Embraer E190 initially on some regional routes in the Guizhou Province and neighboring provinces. The Guiyang-based airline ordered seven E190s plus 10 options, valued at $834 million at list prices, at this year’s Paris Air Show in June when it secured Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) approval for its formal launch.

El Al turns in healthy third-quarter profit
Israeli flag-carrier El Al has substantially improved its third-quarter performance, generating a pre-tax profit of over $126 million. The result compared favourably with the previous figure of just $14 million, which was set against the problems relating to Israel’s military operations in Gaza during 2014.

Metrojet Bomb Placed In Main Cabin - Report
The bomb that downed the Russian Metrojet plane in Egypt last month had been placed in the aircraft's main cabin not in the cargo compartment as reported earlier, the daily Kommersant said, citing an unnamed source. The newspaper, citing a source close to the investigation of the crash, said the epicentre of the explosion appeared to have been at the rear of the cabin near the tail section.

Virgin America to add San Francisco-Denver service in March 2016
Virgin America will add San Francisco-Denver service in March, a move that will give the low-cost carrier (LCC) service to each of the 10 most-popular destinations from San Francisco, as measured by daily passengers each way. In September, Virgin America told investors that an average of 1,153 passengers each day fly one segment between the two cities, making it the ninth-largest destination from San Francisco.

S.C. airport officials predict growth in passenger traffic
Charleston International Airport in South Carolina is expected to handle 4 million passengers by 2023, according to airport officials. "We have competitive airfares and go to many destinations," said Paul Campbell, CEO of the airport. "We have so many folks coming to service customers, and we have strong tourism growth."

Moscow steps up air campaign over Syria
Russia has stepped up its airstrikes in Syria and on 17 November for the first time deployed strategic bombers during its intervention. The new phase of activity involved Tupolev Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers, which took off from Russian air force bases, as well as strike aircraft that have been operational inside Syria for the past few months. Russian navy warships also took part, launching long-range cruise missiles.
