Boeing shows off new luxury jet at Paris Air Show
The BBJ Max 9 is Boeing's largest luxury jet. The craft is based on the body of a 737, but its wing tips and engines provide greater fuel economy.

GECAS to be 737-800 conversion launch customer
US lessor GECAS has become the first customer to sign for Aeronautical Engineers’ freighter conversion program for the Boeing 737-800. Aeronautical Engineers formally launched the program last year. GECAS’s Cargo Aircraft Group has disclosed, during the Paris air show, that it intends to convert up to 20 of its passenger 737-800s to freighters.

Aeroflot Plans To Reduce Fleet Size
Aeroflot sees the Russian aviation industry crisis deepening and is renegotiating its aircraft order with Boeing as the carrier seeks to reduce its fleet, chief executive Vitaly Savelyev said. Aeroflot signed a contract for 22 787 Dreamliners in 2007 with delivery scheduled for 2014, but Boeing later pushed the supply date to 2016.

IAG May Need To Make Concessions In Aer Lingus Bid
IAG may have to offer concessions after EU anti-trust regulators expressed concerns over the planned acquisition of Aer Lingus, two people familiar with the matter said on Friday. IAG is looking to expand lucrative transatlantic services from Dublin airport with the deal. Dublin offers spare capacity, unlike London's Heathrow, where British Airways, IAG's biggest unit, is based.

Body Found In London 'Fell From BA Plane'
British police were investigating newspaper reports on Friday that a body found on the roof of a building in southwest London was that of a stowaway who had fallen from the undercarriage of a plane as it came in to land from South Africa. The man's body was discovered on an office roof in Richmond on Thursday morning.

Delta CEO touts success of the airline and improvements for passengers
Under the leadership of CEO Richard Anderson, Delta Airlines has shrunk its overall debt from $10 billion to $7.4 billion in March 2015 while expanding its reach through acquisitions and partnerships with other airlines around the world. Delta, Southwest Threaten Lawsuits In Dallas Gate Spat
Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines have scheduled overlapping flights from identical gates at Love Field in Dallas, creating potential havoc for customers as a gate-sharing agreement between the carriers is set to expire and a court battle looms over slots at the airport. Southwest, which has 18 of 20 gates at the airport, agreed that Delta could use certain gates until July 6. Southwest plans to ramp up flights in August from Love Field, its headquarters, contingent on regaining all takeoff and arrival slots from Delta.

JetBlue to offer more Mint flights from JFK
JetBlue will offer more of its premium Mint flights out of JFK International over the next year. "In just one year, Mint has taken off in a way that we never imagined and we're thrilled to bring even more Mint to customers who want to fly between JFK and the West Coast," said Marty St.. George, JetBlue's executive vice president of commercial and planning.

Thai Airways' first A350 moves towards final assembly
Airbus says the manufacturing of Thai Airways International’s first A350-900 is “advancing well”, with major components progressing towards the start of final assembly in October. The airframer issued an image which shows the equipping of the forward fuselage in Hamburg, Germany, to include brackets, tubes, pipes and systems.

Improvements at Charlotte airport enhance passenger experience
Renovations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport are easing travel for passengers including new routes in and out of the airport and more parking. Other perks for passengers include closer rental car locations and new kiosks that speed up check-in for passengers traveling on US Airways or American Airlines.

Orlando International Airport is adding a new food court in Airside 2, the terminal used by Southwest Airlines. It will feature a Chipotle and a Jersey Mike's in addition to other restaurants.

Canada accepts first six Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclones
The Royal Canadian Air Force has accepted delivery of its first six Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone maritime patrol helicopters, marking a major step forward for the Sea King replacement program that has a “torturous history”. Two more helicopters are due to arrive at the Shearwater operating base in Nova Scotia this December, and the full tranche of 28 Cyclones will be in place by 2021, Canadian defense minister Jason Kenney said at a ceremony 19 June.

Thailand To Seek Review After ICAO Safety Downgrade
Thailand will invite the ICAO to carry out a new inspection of the country's civil aviation body, the deputy transport minister said, after the UN agency downgraded its safety ratings. The ICAO downgraded Thailand to Category 2 from Category 1, giving it a red flag for missing a 90 day deadline to resolve significant safety concerns.
