Work under way on all A350-1000 test aircraft
Airbus has commenced work on all three development aircraft for the A350-1000 test campaign, as it expects to begin final assembly in the first quarter of next year. Head of A350 programme developments Bruno Hernandez says that the -1000 is “on track” but acknowledges that bringing the components together to meet the final assembly schedule is “very challenging”. Work is under way on the centre wing-box, he says, not only for the first development aircraft but also the second and third.

Jazeera Airways Lodges Interest In Kuwait Air Stake
Kuwait low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways has begun the bidding process to acquire a 35 percent stake in loss-making state carrier Kuwait Airways. Jazeera has submitted a letter of intent to buy the stake, it said in a statement, adding this was expected to be the first privatization by the government that exceeds the USD$3 billion mark.

Malaysia Air CEO Says Carrier 'Technically Bankrupt'
The newly appointed chief executive of Malaysia Airlines, Christoph Mueller, said the carrier is "technically bankrupt", as he announced plans for a restructuring that will cut the company's workforce by a third. "We are technically bankrupt... the decline of performance started long before the tragic events of 2014," Mueller said at a news conference.

USAF mulls V-22 for rescue mission, but won’t cut HH-60 buy
The head of Air Combat Command thinks there is a place for the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey in the US Air Force’s combat search and rescue fleet, but that does not mean the service should buy fewer HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopters (CRHs) from Sikorsky. The air force intends to buy 112 of the in-development Black Hawks to replace its war-weary Pave Hawks, but the greater speed and range of the V-22 makes it an attractive platform for certain pararescue operations.
