Coronavirus Disrupts Vistara’s Plans for New 787-9s
The Covid-19 virus has interrupted Vistara Airlines’ plans to launch international services to Tokyo Haneda Airport with one of six Boeing 787-9s that it has ordered, the first of which it took delivery directly from Boeing’s production plant in Everett, Washington on February 29.

Delta announces new routes from Seattle
Delta Air Lines is expanding its service on routes from its west coast hub, Seattle-Tacoma international airport, bringing the number of destinations it serves from the northwestern US city to 56.

Bamboo Airways is planning to launch direct flights between Vietnam and Germany. The Vietnamese carrier today announced a memorandum of understanding with Munich Airport regarding the matter.

Wizz Air's New Abu Dhabi Subsidiary Poised To Launch In Q3
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has today firmed up plans to launch its own airline in the Middle East – Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. Entering a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADDH), the airline is slated to begin services in the autumn.

Ryanair Cuts A Quarter Of Italy Flights Due To Coronavirus Demand Slump
European low-cost giant Ryanair has today announced it will suspend up to 25% of its short haul flights to and from Italy. The schedule changes are due to take effect from the 17th March until the 8th April, and are in response to the novel coronavirus COVID-19.. All passengers affected by the changes will be contacted by email today.

Kazakh LCC FlyArystan Shares Impressive Karaganda Expansion
FlyArystan has announced that, starting on April 20th, 2020, it will launch eight routes from its new base in Karaganda. Coinciding with the new routes will be the arrival of the low-cost carrier’s sixth aircraft. While no mention has been made as to what type, we can assume it is an Airbus A320-200 to fit in with the rest of the fleet.

On Monday 9 March there will be a massive strike in Mexico, organized only by women. They are protesting against gender violence and the increasing number of murders in the country. A couple of pilots and flight attendants unions in Mexico have claimed that, although the industry cannot stop, they will be supporting this strike.

Fighter-bombers and Anka UAVs Downed as Turkey and Syria Exchange Blows
The second half of February saw an escalation of hostilities in Idlib in northwest Syria. It followed a mass deployment of Turkish armed forces (TSK) to the rebel-held part of the province and led to airstrike exchanges with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) of incumbent president Bashar Al-Assad. On February 27, the TSK’s official death toll doubled, to over 60, when a Syrian Su-22M4 “Fitter” fighter-bomber hit a Turkish convoy.
