A Biman plane crashed on the runway in Yangon International Airport, The Myanmar Times sources said.
Sources from the aviation industry told The Myanmar Times that there has been an incident just now with S2-AGQ - Bombardier Dash 8 Q400.

Spohr: Lufthansa places bid for Thomas Cook leisure carrier Condor
Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr confirmed May 7 that his company has place a non-binding offer for leisure carrier Condor. “We decided at our board meeting yesterday that we would bid for Condor as a whole, with the option of extending the bid to include all of the Thomas Cook airlines,” Spohr said on the sidelines of Lufthansa’s annual general assembly. Thomas Cook’s airline division includes carriers in Germany, the UK and Scandinavia.

PICTURE: Delta A330neo takes maiden sortie
Delta Air Lines first Airbus A330-900 made its maiden flight today, as the carrier prepares to take delivery later this month.
The aircraft (MSN 1915) flew for 5h 46min in the skies above southern France before returning to Toulouse at 16:44 local time, FlightRadar24 data shows.

Jet Airways cancellations offset Airbus April order gains
Five outstanding Jet Airways orders for Airbus A330-200s have been cancelled in the wake of the Indian airline’s suspension of operations in April.
Jet had ordered 15 of the twinjets and 10 had already been delivered to the Mumbai-based carrier.

Asiana to cut four routes and cease first class
Asiana will suspend services to Delhi, Sakhalin, Khabarovsk and Chicago and cease first class services in the coming months as part of its focus on boosting profits.
The airline tells FlightGlobal that the Seoul Incheon to Delhi, Sakhalin and Khabarovsk services will be suspended from 8 July, with Chicago to follow on 27 October.

International growth pushes Jeju Air Q1 profit up 25%
Jeju Air has pointed to solid growth of its international network as the key driver of a 25% increase in its first quarter operating profit to a record KRW57.8 billion ($49.5 million).
Revenue for the three months to the end of March rose 27% to W391 billion, driven by growth in its Chinese and Southeast Asian networks, and aided by a 3% rise in yield on domestic services.

Superjet lost radio contact after lightning strike: regulator
Russian air transport regulators have stated that the Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 involved in the landing accident at Moscow Sheremetyevo had suffered a lightning strike at 6,900ft.
In a transmission the federal air transport authority Rosaviatsia says the aircraft experienced a “discharge of atmospheric electricity” at 2,100m (6,900ft) after departing Sheremetyevo for Murmansk at 18:02 on 5 May.

Icelandair considers A321neo and possible all-Airbus fleet
Icelandair Group is considering switching to an all-Airbus fleet, or the introduction of A321neos to succeed the Boeing 757, as part of a long-term strategic review.
The main airline company, Icelandair, is intending to take its all-Boeing fleet from 33 to 50 aircraft by 2025, with 26 of them a mix of Boeing 737 Max 8s and 9s.

Air India eyes streaming IFE for core fleet
Air India is looking to roll out streaming in-flight entertainment across its core fleet of Boeing 787s, 777s and Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The Star Alliance carrier has issued a tender seeking a provider to supply, install and commission streaming systems on its aircraft under a revenue-sharing arrangement that would run for five years.

Qantas to downgauge Sydney-San Francisco to 787-9
Qantas will cut the seat capacity on the Sydney-San Francisco route by a third from 4 December by replacing the Boeing 747-400s used on its daily services with 787-9s.
The change is part of the carrier’s previously announced plans to phase its 747 fleet as it takes delivery of six additional 787s. It already has eight in service, with the next 787 due for delivery in October.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has hosted a multi-agency training exercise simulating an aircraft crash. The event included nearly 500 participants from 25 different agencies across Sea Island and the Lower Mainland. This training provides crucial opportunities to practice emergency response plans with business partners and the airport community. Airport operations were not affected by this exercise.

Prague weighs Mi-24 replacement options
The US Department of State has given its approval to potential deals that could equip the Czech Republic with Bell UH-1Y/AH-1Z or Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.
Detailed by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 3 May, a possible Foreign Military Sales purchase by Prague could involve either an initial four AH-1Zs (below) or 12 UH-60Ms. Such acquisitions would cost around $205 million and $800 million, respectively, including weapons, training and in-service support.

Northrop to support RAAF VIP fleet
The Royal Australian Air Force has selected Northrop Grumman for an A$84 million ($59 million), six-year support package for its special purpose aircraft fleet used to transport VIPs.
Under the package, Northrop will provide logistics, maintenance, engineering, and support for the fleet, which is comprises a pair of Boeing Business Jets 737s as well as three Bombardier Challenger CL604s, which are being replaced by three Dassault Falcon 7Xs.

USMC aims to add autonomous landing approach to UH-1Y and AH-1Z
The US Marine Corps (USMC) is looking to upgrade its fleet of Bell UH-1Y utility and AH-1Z attack helicopters with the ability to approach a landing zone autonomously.
In order to help pilots land their aircraft in austere environments with low visibility, possibly as a result of a dust cloud, the service wants to add an upgraded Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (EGI) to the helicopters.

Future US Navy fighter will not be joint effort with USAF
After developing the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lighting II together, the US Navy (USN) and the US Air Force (USAF) are parting ways.
The USN’s next-generation fighter won’t be jointly developed with the USAF. That’s because the USN does not plan to use its Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) aircraft on penetration missions in highly-contested air space as the USAF aims to do with its next-generation fighter, says Angie Knappenberger, USN deputy director of air warfare, at the Navy League Sea-Air-Space conference in National Harbor, Maryland.
