Boeing Beating Airbus In 2016 Deliveries
Boeing delivered 563 commercial aircraft in the first three quarters of 2016, easily beating Airbus’s total of 462 for the period. During the third quarter Boeing delivered 188 aircraft, down from 199 in the same period a year ago. Of the total, there were 120 737, 22 777 and 36 787 deliveries.

Airlines prepare for Hurricane Matthew's US landfall
US airlines are preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Matthew as it touches down in southeastern Florida by offering their thousands of customers the opportunity to adjust their travel plans. Airlines canceled more than 2,500 flights ahead of the storm, according to FlightAware.com.

Air Berlin Crews Encouraged To Work Extra Hours
Air Berlin has agreed with unions to encourage staff to work extra shifts as TUIfly staff shortages impact its operations. TUIfly provides aircraft and crew to operate some Air Berlin flights under wet lease arrangements.

American Airlines' regional carriers will continue to service Meridian, Miss.
American Airlines' Skywest and ExpressJet regional affiliates will continue to provide air service connecting Meridian Regional Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Borajet Airlines to take five Embraer E2s
Turkish regional Borajet Airlines is to take three Embraer E190-E2s and two E195-E2s on long-term lease from Irish lessor AerCap. “Borajet’s future plans ınclude the addition of further next generatıon Embraer aırcraft to our fleet. Our target investment is $1.5 billion. The first step of our investment is the induction of the five E-Jets E2 jets announced today,” Borajet Airlines chairman Fatih Akol said, announcing the deal on Oct. 6 at the Istanbul Airshow.

easyJet Sees Lower Profit On Currency, Security
UK low cost carrier easyJet announced lower expected profit for the current financial year as “extraordinary events” weighed it down. Full year profit before tax is expected to be between GBP£490 million and GBP£495 million for the year to end September 2016.

Hawaiian Airlines' Premium Cabin available Dec. 5
Travelers can now reserve a spot in Hawaiian Airlines' new Premium Cabin for select international flights, which features fully reclining seats designed by Hawaiian artist Sig Zane and island cuisine by executive chef Chai Chaowasaree. The cabin will be available starting Dec. 5 on service to Narita, Japan; Brisbane and Sydney, Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand.

Southwest Flight Evacuated After Note 7 Catches Fire
A Southwest Airlines flight at Louisville Airport in Kentucky had to be evacuated on Wednesday morning after a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 caught fire. The flight to Baltimore was evacuated before take-off after the Note 7 started smoking. All passengers and crew disembarked safely.

TUIfly to shut down flight operations Friday after ‘massive’ crew shortage
German leisure carrier TUIfly has decided to completely shut down flight operations again on Friday after many aircraft crew called in sick on short notice Thursday, a spokesman confirmed. The action follows concerns about a partial merger between the two companies. A total of 108 flights will be canceled, comprising 54 flights leaving from Germany and 54 from tourism destinations throughout Europe.

American offers direct flights between Akron-Canton and Chicago's O'Hare
This week, American Airlines is commencing direct flights from Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio to Chicago's O'Hare International and adding another New York flight. The Chicago service will be operated by Envoy Air. "Both business and leisure travelers will love this new service aboard American Airlines," said Rick McQueen, president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport, in a statement.

Germany may buy as many as six C-130Js
Germany has signaled its intention to acquire as many as six Lockheed Martin C-130J tactical transports as its frustrations deepen with the underperforming Airbus Defense & Space A400M. As part of a memorandum of understanding with France, signed by the defense ministers from both countries, the Hercules would be part of a “common air transport squadron” to be created by 2021.
