Boeing, Air Austral Celebrate Delivery of Airline's First 787 Dreamliner
Boeing and Air Austral are celebrating the delivery of the carrier's first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The newest addition to the Air Austral long-haul fleet will touch down at Roland Garros Airport in Saint-Marie, Reunion Island tomorrow following a 10,500-mile (16,898-kilometre) delivery flight originating from the Boeing Everett Delivery Center in Everett, Wash.

Air Hamburg orders one more Embraer Legacy 650 business jet
Embraer Executive Jets and the Germany-based business charter operator Air Hamburg have signed a purchase agreement for yet another Legacy 650. The agreement was announced today at the opening of the 16th European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland. The delivery of this aircraft is scheduled for the third quarter of 2016.

American to offer nonstop flight from Ariz. to NYC
American Airlines announced plans to launch a nonstop flight from Tucson, Ariz., to New York City in the fall. The flight will offer daily service to John F. Kennedy International Airport. "From a network side, this is a big deal," said Joseph Hughes, regional director for government and community affairs at American.

EgyptAir Remains Point To Explosion - Forensics
Human remains retrieved from the crashed EgyptAir flight suggest that there was an explosion on board the plane, although no traces of explosives have been detected, an Egyptian forensics official said. The official based his assessment on the small size of body parts so far recovered from the Mediterranean Sea, where EgyptAir flight MS804 crashed on Thursday.

Norwegian Air Seeking To Add More 787s
Norwegian Air will continue to seek more Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for its long-haul fleet after signing a deal with CIT Aerospace to lease two aircraft from 2018. Norwegian currently has 10 787s in operation and 32 on order following the CIT deal, and options to buy a further 10 from Boeing.

TAP Express launches Embraer E190 operations
TAP Portugal has taken delivery of its first Embraer E190, which will be operated by regional subsidiary TAP Express. It wasplaced into service May 23 on the Lisbon-Nice route. The new aircraft also operated service from Lisbon to Barcelona and Toulouse on its first day of operations with TAP Express.

United to offer snacks in coach for international flights
United Airlines plans to reintroduce complimentary snacks for coach passengers on international flights in June.. The snacks consist of candy and a small sandwich, and will be served on flights of 12 hours or longer, as well as flights between the West Coast and Europe.

UTair expands routes in Siberia
Russia’s UTair Airline is expanding domestic and international services from Surgut to 28 destinations this summer. It launched daily Surgut-Tomsk-Krasnoyarsk ATR 72-500 service on May 20. According to UTair, it will add Irkutsk to the route from July 2. The carrier has bases in the Siberian cities of Tyumen and Surgut, as well as Moscow Vnukovo.

RAAF’s first P-8A conducts maiden flight
The first Boeing P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft due for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has completed its maiden sortie. The aircraft, which is based on the 737 commercial airliner, flew from Boeing’s Renton production facility to nearby Boeing Field, says the RAAF in a statement.

USAF picks Coulson Aviation to outfit HC-130Hs for firefighting
The US Air Force has picked the Coulson Aviation USA retardant aerial delivery systems (RADS-XXL) to outfit seven former Coast Guard Lockheed Martin HC-130H search-and-rescue turboprops as firefighting assets for the Forest Service. The 15,000l (4,000gal) system that can jettison 6,000l (1,600gal) of retardant per second was chosen over other types like the modular airborne firefighting system (MAFFS), which is already used by Air National Guard and Reserve C-130s in support of the wildfire mission.
