Come to church, bring your gun

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

The only disturbing part of this were the peaceniks across the town w/their own "gun-free event" (who, fortunately, only got a brief mention). Were a criminal event occur in town, the peaceniks might be among the first to die - funny to think some people would have to run to church for cover. {silly} {guns}

Praise the Lord, Pass the ammunition.

Read your Bible and keep your powder dry...

So during Sunday service is when all the break ins will occur. {crazy}
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

In Texas, we call this Sunday.
We sleep peacefully in our beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf

No biggie. People have been carrying guns to church for hundreds of years. I carried a gun last time I went to church, it's legal to do so in the State of Texas unless there's a sign saying you cannot do so and I have never seen one at any church. Why did I carry it into the church? Because it's safer than leaving it in the car, and I carry it everywhere else.

Just another example of the media trying to make something "shocking" out of nothing.

Or perhaps since the church sent out a press release early in the week, perhaps it's the minister that trying to make something "shocking" out of nothing. :|

Possibly, but he was probably just trying to find more like-minded people to attend his church.

I know a while ago small churches in Ohio had problems with getting robbed on Sunday morning during church..

In a BRILLIANT move... The Ohio legislature made it illegal for CHL holders to carry in church around the same time.

You people seem to be missing something

Unloaded weapons allowed at event celebrating Second Amendment

What is the purpose of carrying an unloaded weapon?

If this catches on maybe we can sit in our cars without gas.

A quick peek at the Ohio laws on firearms seems to indicate that most of the laws stipulate "Loaded" before the restriction. My guess would be that specifying unloaded handguns only was a quick and dirty way to get as many people to be able to bring a firearm without worrying about legal complications.

Keep the gun unloaded, but keep a loaded mag with you?

(Or would that still fit their definition of carrying a "loaded" firearm, since the operator can effectively use it with little delay which, otherwise, would have been deemed inoperable?)
