In case anyone was wondering

Late last month, a U.S. District Court judge dismissed a complaint filed by a woman who said she'd been buying Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries cereal for four years under the assumption that crunchberries are a real berry. "The plaintiff, Janine Sugawara, alleged that she had only recently learned to her dismay that said 'berries' were in fact simply brightly-colored cereal balls."

Dear Janine Sugawara (aka Dumbass):

Look on the back of the box and you'll see a label like this:

And below that label these words will be printed:

Corn Flour, Sugar, Oat Flour, Brown Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Salt, Nonfat Dry Milk, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Sodium Citrate, (a Flavoring Agent), Whey Concentrate, Malic Acid, (a Flavoring Agent), Niacinamide, Red 40, Reduced Iron, Zinc Oxide, (Yellow 6, Blue 1, BHT, (a Preservative) Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid.

Those are called "INGREDIENTS". It means "the stuff this food is made from". I don't see "berries" anywhere, do you? {sarcastic}

Thank goodness Sotomayor didn't hear the case, she'd have probably upheld it because the "victim" is a female.
Slider... <sniff, sniff>... you stink.

Either that or she would have mandated a new Federal policy whereby cereal companies are required to list all Ingredients that are NOT found in the box... 8)
The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers...

The only "Froot" is the idiot that brought the lawsuit. AND the lawyer who took the case.

I distinctly remember a TV blurb in the early 1970's about the fact that crunchberries were the same "material" as the regular bits of Capn Chunch, just a different shape and flavor. I remember it so well because, as a 12 year old kid, I wondered how they got berries the transform so miraculously into hollow crunchy thingies..

Even way back when I was of the age where such a cereal was considered fine dining, I knew that crunchberries weren't actual berries. {sarcastic}
Make Orwell fiction again.

Personally, I was quite distraught to find out that Grape Nuts does not actually contain grapes or nuts. {vsad}
