Jay Leno hosts his last "Tonight Show".

Everything that would not belong anywhere else.

Tonight, the last "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno at the helm will air.

I never liked Jay Leno nearly as much as I like David Letterman, especially since Dave was the heir apparent to the spot that Jay stole from him. But I wish Jay well in his future endeavors and I hope Conan O' Brien is able to carry the torch of the "Tonight Show", although I hope David Letterman is able to trump him in the ratings race.

I do wonder how long it will be before Dave decides to hang it up. And I also wonder who would take his spot.
Slider... <sniff, sniff>... you stink.

I'm a Leno fan, always have been. I'm a bigger Conan fan. My only beef with Conan is that he makes fun of himself too much, it gets old after a while. But Conan's humor is off the wall and I love it. IE: The cactus playing "We didnt start the fire" on a flute. Or of course the Walker Texas Ranger lever.

I watch Jay over Dave. Having said that, I have a lot of respect for both of them. I think Letterman is more witty, and I think he's really a smart and genius comedian.

Leno seems (and everyone seems to say) like one of the classiest guys in the business. He always seems to make the guests feel comfortable and at home. I think he's funny too, and I really enjoy the comedy bits he does after his monologue ("Headlines," "Jay Walking," etc.). I hope he does well at 10pm.

I'm a huge Conan fan so I can't wait to see what he does with "The Tonight Show." He took over for Dave back when Dave was with NBC. So he has a deep respect for both Dave and Jay for what they've done for him. He has a really unique style of comedy, and I think he's hilarious. He's just not afraid to make a fool of himself, and also make fun of himself at the same time. I think he will do well.

Anyway, best of luck to them both.

First Carson goes (yeah, I remember him, and I'm old). Then Leno gets the gig, I'm okay with that. Now he's leaving and that pinhead Conan gets it.

It'll be my last tonight show too. I'd rather watch paint dry than watch Conan. Not a decent late night host left.

Letterman is a political hack, not worth the time on target. Conan is stupid. Leno was at least halfway decent.

Especially "Headlines". My favorite part of the show, Monday nights.

Always have much preferred Leno to Letterman. Ashame I forgot to DVR this back home, I would have liked to see this last show.

I'm a huge Leno fan. Kind of a sad day seeing him leave like this, but I look forward to his primetime show.

not a big Conan fan, but i still like him better than Letterman.

I haven't seen the tonight show in over 3 years.. Ever since I took on the night shift. I can't say I really missed it.

On the really slow nights I was sometimes able to catch Conan.. I kinda think he is funny.

Yeah, this will be my last Tonight Show (if I'm even home to watch it). I've never liked Conan.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

I assume you'll be tuning into Adult Swim from now on. {cheerful}

Aside from Family Guy and King of the Hill is there anything on Adult Swim that you don't have to be high to laugh at?

Robot Chicken.

I watch Adult Swim every night (except when they show the goddamned Japanese anime shit). I like the dark, literally irreverent humor of Moral Orel. I never understood that Metalocalypse show.

Here's what I think about the hosts I watch.

Leno: Amusing, sometimes very funny, but always pleasant and easy to watch.
Letterman: Has some funny moments. Spends too much time trying to score political points and looking bitter. Reminds me of Nancy Grace.
Conan: Has his moments. Not the best. Can't replace Leno is style or anything, but still funny.

Ferguson: FREAKING AMAZING. He's all I bother to watch anymore. By far my favorite. No one else comes close.

Yep, me too. I would be mad at myself if I missed it...or when he decided to take time off. "Jay Walking" was funny too, but I never made an effort to see it, catching it only if I happened to tune it at the right time.

I've only seen Conan's show a couple of times and found the humor portion of it kind of forced. Some of his other work, though, was pretty good.

It got all the way to Lucas before someone mentioned Craig Ferguson. I've only seen him in the workout room here at work. He'll continue to catch on with the core demographic 18-49 range. He's the got the right kind of stuff. In fact, I'd watch Carson in high school, and after he left, I tried Leno, Letterman, Tom what's-his-name on CBS, Conan, Craig Kilborn and so on - none of them were anything close to Carson, except for Ferguson.

Exactly. Sometimes I think Conan is pure comic gold, and other times he's really trying to force it.

Honestly...I love Triumph. It's stupid...it's immature...but damn if it isn't funny.

The Star Wars one was probably the best...

I used to watch Dave all the time. Now his show is dull imho.
TUSpilot (Founding Member) 30 May 09, 06:55Post
I watched his show all week for the first time in a long time. I was disappointed in the monologues. They appear to have gotten worse. They reminded my of Letterman monologues: not funny and a bit dull. Conan should do well with the show. One thing I always disliked about Late Night was the audience screaming incessantly for him. Shut up and let the man talk! Conan has taken over shows for two of the biggest names in the business: Leno and Letterman. He took over Late Night for Letterman in 1993 and The Tonight Show for Leno in 2009. Pretty impressive.
We live in a galaxy far far away and we STILL have to connect in ATL.

Well Jay's show tonight was pretty good. Especially the ending, a really cool thing to see. Just shows what a great guy he is. I wish him all the best with his new show.
