The Government of the DRC's 727-100 has just had a fresh coat of paint at Air Liveries MAN and is sat on the apron. Not sure of the departure time but it would be great if somebody gets a shot of her leaving.

No time mentioned as yet on the usual groups.

Shame the weather is so poor, but at least I should be able to hear it as they are taking off overhead!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

I'd ask Mr. Gonzalez but he'd only have a diva strop about being asked a question ;)

Two BA FLIGHTS, 242 from MEX, and 018 from ICN are diverting into MAN due to thunder storms at LHR.

Skies very black, torrential rain and big thunder and lightning down here. Won't be surprised if you get a few more diverts....
mhodgson (ATC & Photo Quality Screener & Founding Member) 22 May 14, 14:33Post
Yep, BA6 inbound as well (B773) plus two short-hauls heading north as well (BA993 and 701, though they could be BHX-bound).
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Cleared and brightened up again now, there might be a few delays as they play catch up but probably no more diverts now...
mhodgson (ATC & Photo Quality Screener & Founding Member) 22 May 14, 14:45Post
BA6 and BA993 off to NCL instead.

Something about MAN only taking three BA diverts at a time? Not sure if that's correct but those passengers won't be happy after a trek from Japan to find themselves almost in Scotland!

The TXL-LHR flight was possibly unique in that it took off from an airport that shouldn't be there anymore and landed at an airport that is more than half the distance again away from where it should have landed {boggled}

Not sure who BA use for handling at MAN, but I'd assume they can only handle so much in one go in addition to their usual load.

Makes sense, it's not like they'll have ground crew sat around on the off-chance of a divert.

The storm that's caused the problems (contrary to reports on Facebook) is building and is headed our way:

Hi-Fly's A310 CS-TEX has been leased by TCX who have a poorly 763 (shocking, I know) and will be operating flights ex-MAN for the remainder of this week at least.

QR's 772L arrives in MIA as part of its inaugural service between MIA and DOH.

Western U is going to be the place to be.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

Dolly Parton returning home from gigs in the UK.

Edit: Not Dolly Parton herself, but her tour aircraft sent to Colarado to pick up new equipment after some got damaged at Glastonbury.

D-ABON (Condor's Wir Lieben Fliegen 753) is at MAN right now. Taxied onto stand right next to us.

Weather sucks, but better than OUL.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

MAN have had a Condor 753 flying for TCX for a while now. It was D-ABOL until that returned to Germany on Monday, D-ABON must be the replacement.

Did you spot an Air Contractors ATR-72 sat on a remote stand? That diverted in while flying CDG-DUB reportedly with a fire in the hold.

No, didn't see that - ended up with an aisle seat. Otherwise I'd have run out there with a can of petrol.

I did notice that the US A330 was at T1 instead of T2; is that because AA is in T1?

Both AA and US should be at T3.

Yep, was almost certainly T3 then, I'm not sure where one starts and the other finishes.

Meridian Cargo Antonov AN-12 at MAN right now, should make for a nice smoky take-off if anybody's about when it leaves (I'm trying to establish its schedule now).

Update: Penciled in for a 2040 departure tonight but, being a one off cargo charter, that could mean any time before next Wednesday!

That's a shame - I've never actually seen that one!

OM-BYO, Slovakian government TU-154 is currently at MAN and is scheduled to leave mid-morning Wednesday the 23rd. I'll try and get a more accurate time and may just pop down myself for this one:
