Just curious. It's sometimes difficult for me to ascertain exactly what I've improved at. Since it's a gradual process, every now and then I'll suddenly be like, "oh hey, I'm doing this particular thing better than I used to".

The most recent one I noticed is taking level photos. It's not something I've practiced, or even paid much attention to, but I've noticed in the last few months that I don't have to rotate photos by as much as I used to when editing.

I'm also getting a better sense of how low to go, shutter speed-wise, in low light photography. I've realized that 1/40 is about my current minimum for consistently getting a couple keepers out of a group of shots of an aircraft landing or taking off. And using full-frame now, I can pretty happily start bumping the ISO and not have it turn out too messy.

So, what about you?

Sadly, I have not had the opportunity to do much av photography. So I guess I just don't know. ;)

Baby steps really - a significant change in equipment (300D to 650d) last year and a new lens with IS have made a difference, but I have also tried to adapt my PS techniques which seems to have given some excellent results, notably in my recent MIA trips as well as MAN earlier this month which produced possibly the best overall results I've ever had.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

I'm not sure if I'm improving or not. Some days, if feels like I'm regressing. It's probably due to the fact that even though I have a fairly capable camera, it's still pretty much a point-n-shoot.
Make Orwell fiction again.

Don't worry, we all have those days.

And as you noted, it's always the equipment's fault. :))
