If ever there was an image that sums up the last 12 months in aviation!

There is a video of the landing out there. Given the conditions and the extremely hard landing, it looks like icing may well be a factor.

Man, that thing got SMOTE. (Smitten? Smited? Smacked? Let's go with smacked.)

If this were south of the border, I'd say it got smacked by some perfectly routine and perfectly safe helicopter downwash on short final. As it is, I have no idea.

On the bright side, it shows how far we've come that - so far, at least - nobody was killed by that wild ride. That is truly impressive.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.
