I'm left wondering why he ejected at all? Aircraft was on the ground, unless the engine was a runaway, cut fuel, cut electrical power, and it all winds down. Why take the chance of serious injury or death ejecting at ground level?

I agree, just shut it all down and hope for the best.
The ejection looked pretty nasty,he didn`t get any real height,and chute had barely opened, when he hit the ground.
Looked like he hit pretty hard.Ouch
