Among the highlights:
  • The planned 40 weekly flights to five Japanese destinations has been slashed to seven, all to Tokyo
  • European routes are also being cut due to lack of transfer traffic from the Far East
  • Going around Russia turns a 10-hour Helsinki-Tokyo flight into 13 hours

That last one would presumably put a dent in their utilisation; they were getting insane utilisation on their A350s precisely because the far-east routes were the perfect length to run with one aircraft.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.
