Our European members are probably thinking, "what's the big deal?" but this is a step forward for this side of the pond.

Delta Air Lines announced that SkyMiles frequent flier program members who are also registered for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck will be able to drop their bags, go through security, and board their plane simply by showing their face beginning next month. In other words, they can go from curb to gate, hands- and device-free.

Of course for the moment it is limited to their frequent flier program but I can see that expanding pretty quickly. Just like TSA precheck has pretty much outlived it usefulness in speeding up security clearance at peak times this will eventually be saturated as well.
What's the point of an open door policy if inside the open door sits a closed mind?
