In a sign that China's military buildup is moving more aggressively than many believed, the country is expected to deploy an advanced combat jet to rival Lockheed Martin's F-22 Raptor within eight years. The date is years ahead of Pentagon forecasts, and, in testimony before a national security group charged with studying national security implications of U.S.-China economic ties, one expert noted that China's military is looking at options for the possible use of force against Taiwan, which it considers to be a rogue province.

Yep. And they can build it much cheaper and build a lot more of them because they don't have the idiotic government processes involved in their military acquisitions as we have. Even if theirs is not as technologically advanced as ours, they can field 10 of theirs for every one that we build built.

Plus all the money we are giving them helps as well.

One of the advantages about getting old is that I won't be around to watch us become a vassal state of China, because we've pissed away our economic health, and will have to pay for it with eventual drastic cuts to our military budget.
At home in the PNW and loving it
