The
NTSB has come out with its preliminary report on the airshow crash at
KRBD.
According to the report, the air boss told the fighter formation to change to trail formation to fly in front of the bomber formation in the direction of the 500-foot show line. The boss told the bombers to fly down the 1,000-foot line. The report adds that the maneuvers were neither discussed preflight nor in the air.
https://simpleflying.com/preliminary-ntsb-report-dallas-crash/That would mean, looking at the videos published so far, that the fighters would have somehow had to cross paths with the bombers to accomplish the directive from the air boss.
Meanwhile new video has surfaced that purports to show that the P63 collided with
something just prior to the midair with the B17. It does show that before that the aircraft was probably a bit higher than the B17 and after the supposed foreign object hit descended into the B17. If it can be established that it was a drone, somebody, somewhere, could be responsible for the loss of 6 lives and two priceless aircraft, not to mention mental anquish experienced on differing levels by hundreds of people.
