Have to say for me it was the Convair 880-990 series. Just something about it that perks my curiosity. Seems like it was a great mid-size aircraft for its time.

“The basic Convair 880 was designed for operation from runways of 5,000 to 8,000 feet and for favorable operating costs on medium range up to transcontinental flights. Its sister airliner, the Convair 880-M, offers increased range, fuel capacity, operating weights and shorter runway requirements."

I did get to ride on my second favorite aircraft, the McDonald Douglas stretch 8 and I've logged a number of trips on my 3rd favorite, the Boeing 767-400. Love the sound of those engines when it's taxiing around the airport.

The Concorde comes in a distant 5th after I had a chance to tour one on the ground outside of Edinburgh. The size of the seats and windows made it seem like a stretch Embraer 145.

True.

I always wanted to ride on British metal like the Trident and VC10. Got to fly the BAC 1-11.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

I got my most liked aircrafts, but...:

MD11: Always when I booked a flight with an MD11, there was an aircraft change and I wasnt able to fly it long haul. But in 2014 I was able to get a ticket for the very last passenger MD11 flight ever at the MD11 farewell event in AMS. So this had finally a happy end.

L1011: I flew on a Tristar when I was 6 years old (DUS-IBZ), I cant remeber this flight, but my mother kept the tickets. :) I never had the chance to fly on one again.

Unless I come upon a large amount of spare cash, I'll probably never get to fly in an A380 or B748.

Similar except I had to cancel and never did fly an MD-11 :(

For me, the Comet although it was out of service mostly before I was born.

Got a ride in one, but it was ratty and nasty. Rather like the service - good old SAS.
My friend and I applied for airline jobs in Australia, but they didn't Qantas.

Concorde for me. Toured the one on static display at MAN, but the cabin is really nothing to write home about. Still wish I had been able to cross the Atlantic on one.

Shared second place goes to the Tu-154 and the Il-62. With cold war making its surprise comeback, I guess I can bury that dream.

Honorable mention, though it wasn't an airliner: the An-225. RIP Mriya.

The ones I got crossed off the list: the MD-11, to SXM and back no less.

The Super Constellation, at a local aviation festival a couple of years ago.

And the 727... well, I've never flown on one, but the one Vic, Jeff (SFO) and me were allowed to inspect on a memorable day at OPF came close enough.

Concorde, and the Lockheed Super Constellation

I've flown on most of the early jets of the 60s and 70s. I would have loved to have flown on a few of the large props before they retired: DC-7C, Super Constellation.

Most of all, I would have loved to have flown in the ultimate: Boeing 314. It's a shame that not a single airframe survived or was preserved for posterity.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

Boeing 314 for me as well.

And the 727-100.

Concorde for sure; I still find myself obsessively watching YouTube videos.

Also the L1011. Growing up a mile away from RAF Brize Norton, I'd see (and most definitely hear) those TriStar's doing touch-and-goes and practicing refueling techniques with VC10s in the skies above Oxfordshire. Never knew there was a passenger version of the L1011 until much later, after they'd all been retired from passenger service.
