Adjusted operating profit rose 16% internationally and more than 18% domestically for the quarter. For the three months ended Dec. 31, UPS earned $1.33 billion, or $1.48 per share. The Atlanta company earned $453 million, or 49 cents per share, in the same quarter of 2014.
LinkWestJet Profit Down As Alberta Economy WeakensWestJet Airlines reported a smaller quarterly profit, hurt by its large exposure to Alberta, where the economy is weakening. Net earnings fell to CAD$63.4 million in the quarter ended December 31, from CAD$90.7 million a year earlier. Revenue fell 3.6 percent to CAD$958.7 million.
